What we need from you

1. Your name or the name of your limited company or organisation (the Registrant)
2. Your trading name if you are trading under a different name (eg sole traders, partnerships)
3. Your registrant type: eg individual, sole trader, partnership, limited company, registered charity, club or association
4. For charities and companies, your charity or company number
5. Name, address, email address and phone number of a contact person.

When renewing, we will ask you to confirm that these are still accurate.

6. Your confirmation that you agree to the Registry terms and conditions (see below - Contract with Nominet)

Contract with Nominet

Your contract of registration for the domain name will be with the Nominet Registry which handles all .uk names, but you will principally deal with us, Hiraeth Mixed Media Ltd. In order for us to proceed with the registration or renewal, we ask you to read the terms and conditions of your contract with the Nominet Registry and confirm to us that you agree to them.

You should be aware that unless you are a consumer (defined as 'an individual not registering, using or planning to use the domain name as part of a business, trade or profession'), some personal data including your name or organisation name and the address of the contact person will be added to the 'Whois database' of UK domain names which is publicly available online. Consumers may opt out of this. See sections 11-13 of the Nominet T&C.

Contract with Hiraeth Mixed Media: Key Terms

What we charge for the domain-name related services we provide

We register UK domains for one year at a time and this costs £10. This covers (a) the domain name registration and (b) DNS which provides an address or addresses for the name so that you can use it for a web site or email service. DNS does not include web or email hosting but is simply an addressing system. The charge also covers any changes to your personal details during the registration period.

How we deal with expired and expiring domain name registrations

We will send you an email notification four weeks before renewal is due and again before it expires. We may phone you if you do not respond to the emails. If we cannot contact you before expiration, the domain will expire but we will continue to try and contact you for up to 4 weeks after expiration. At this point the domain will be suspended, meaning it will no longer work, and eventually it will be cancelled, meaning someone else can register the name.

Nominet will also contact you when the domain expires, when it is suspended and before it is finally cancelled. You can find more information on their web site. It is very important to let us know whenever you change your email address or other details so that we can keep your domain name records up to date.

How you can renew a domain name and the basis on which you will be charged for maintaining your domain name registration

We will renew the domain name for you when you contact us to confirm you wish to keep the registration. You do not need to wait for our notification that renewal is due.

Payment will become due on receipt of our invoice. Renewals are for one year, normally at the same cost as the original registration. If there is to be any increase in cost we will notify you 6 weeks before the domains are due for renewal. We will not charge you unless we renew the name. If you prefer to renew for a longer period, we can do this for you.

Should you intend to cancel the name or transfer it to a new provider rather than renewing with us, please let us know as soon as possible.

Transferring your domain names to a new provider, or otherwise terminating your contract with us

If you wish to transfer at any time to a new provider, please ask and we will assist. We do not charge for this.
